I decided to order the KHKD Resin Table Top Epoxy Resin Kit because I enjoy experimenting with epoxy resin in creative projects. Although I haven’t quite mastered the technique—my results tend to vary, and none have been entirely flawless—I was eager to try this product for a new idea. Instead of using the resin for a tabletop, I set out to make a spoon rest using some dried flowers I had saved.
For this project, I grabbed an empty Oxyclean bucket, sprayed the bottom with non-stick spray, and arranged my pre-dried flowers at the base. I poured the first layer of resin and carefully let it sit for about 5-6 hours. After that, I added another layer, but the flowers still weren’t fully covered, so I waited another 5-6 hours and poured the final layer. This last pour did the trick.
To shape the spoon rest, I placed wax paper over the surface and added a clay mold to create the dip needed for the spoon. The weight from the mold applied just the right pressure, and to my surprise, the curing process went smoothly. Removing the wax paper was a breeze, and the cast separated easily from the container.
The resin cured crystal-clear, which beautifully showcases the flowers from every angle. I did notice a few air bubbles in the final product, but I know that was entirely my fault and not an issue with the resin itself. Overall, I’m happy with how this project turned out and feel encouraged to keep experimenting with this kit. It’s a solid choice for those who love DIY projects and want the freedom to explore their creativity, even if the learning curve is a bit steep.
